SAJA has active chapters in the Bay Area, New York, Toronto and Washington D.C.  Chapters organize networking events, panel discussions on journalism related issues, book launches and film screenings.  Events are usually open to the general public – SAJA members and other supporters.  But there are also exclusive events only for SAJA members.

SAJA board members often coordinate with supporters in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles to host SAJA Comes To You events.
