Discussion List

Dear SAJA Discussion List Member:

The SAJA Discussion List has continued to grow over the years.  It now has several hundred members (journalists and  non-journalists) in the U.S., Canada, South Asia, Southeast Asia, China, Europe, the UK, South Africa and the Middle East.

Please follow the guidelines.

This forum at the SAJA website will henceforth be reserved for informational postings for and by Full Members of SAJA on matters relating to SAJA membership, SAJA’s programs and activities. All
postings will be subject to being moderated by an administrator.

SAJA also provides several additional ways through which members and non-members can communicate with one another and share issues, concerns and ideas.   Currently, the following avenues are available:

(1)     Moderated Group email lists are maintained by individual Chapter coordinators to communicate information about SAJA events and other developments in regions relevant to each SAJA Chapter. SAJA Chapters are active in New York, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Bay Area and in
Toronto, Canada.

(2)     A moderated group email list is maintained by SAJA’s Students Committee head (currently, Aseem Chhabra ) for communication among Journalism students and others interested in education and sutdents-related issues, such as SAJA scholarships, etc.

(3)     A moderated e-mail based Discussion List is run by a SAJA board member (currently, John Laxmi ) for members and non-members who are interested in sharing information and insights on reporting by North American media of issues relating to South Asia and South Asians and general trends in journalism.
To subscribe: Please send a note to: johnlaxmisajadisc@gmail.com John is the treasurer and board member of SAJA and lives in the New York area.  John has been actively involved with SAJA for over ten years and has also been moderating the List for over five years.
